Workplace Drugs & Alcohol Policy Poster
Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs can seriously impair an individual’s judgment and reactions leading to an increased risk of accidents and injuries occurring.
This poster aims to help employers establish workplace alcohol and other drugs policy so that risks to workplace health and safety associated with the use of alcohol and other drugs can be dealt with consistently, legally and to the benefit of both the employer and the employee.
The Occupational Health and Safety Act; General Regulations, Section 2A and Schedule 8 of the Labour Relations Act both cover what must be done in cases of intoxication in the workplace. In terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act General Regulations, employers are responsible to ensure that employees that seem to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance or consume such a substance in the workplace are not allowed on the premises of the company.
